GMA 7 has just started to bombard us with torrential teasers of the forthcoming highly-anticipated much-awaited Survivor Philippines. The teaser was handsomely-made, and Paolo Bediones is handsome as ever. I bet the trailer was one-year in the making.
It gave us a firsthand look of the island, the big waves, the 'tribal council', and a perfect shot of a sunset. Also include that eerie tribal sound and the slow drumbeats. All in all, the teaser was promising enough to make my mom scream in horror: '39 DAYS WITHOUT RED HORSE!?! NO WAAAY!!' Sure, she can't take that.
This is not the first time that we did import and franchise a show of Western origin. The list includes Deal or No Deal (which was really great), Wheel of Fortune (boring), Celebrity Duets (uhm Tessa-Prieto is the bomb!), and, the latest, Pinoy Idol.
When Pinoy Idol began to air some of its teasers, I thought that it was cool, and it would be...phenomenal. I thought that the magnificent blue-and-white computer-generated logo of P.I. was... stunning-- not until its premiere episode. To my utmost disappointment and disgust, the Gay Gutierrez hosted the show, and that one-hit-wonder-maker Jolina was even part of the jury. WTH. I wanted to sing Paper roses... Paper roses... that time. I felt like my large intestine would come out slipping down my nostrils anytime. I felt like I was nauseous. No, I was, indeed, nauseous. Sure, Pokwang would make a better host, and Ai-Ai, a better judge.
That was the very moment that I had realized that GMA has perfected the art of producing promising trailers.
Anyway, Paolo Bediones is a very good host, a veteran in his field. You know that. But, I don't really think his hosting mastery could carry the whole show. Not unless, of course, the 18 castaways would go naked, splashing seawater at each other in slow-mo. And if that would be the case, they were to be called 18 pornstars. Now, that's PHENOMENAL.
I'm just wondering what other things could possibly happen when the lights went off and the camera stopped filming. Yes, only the dramatic scenes would be filmed, right? So, how about the scenes that are -err- less dramatic? Are these unworthy of recording? Behind the scenes footage? Bloopers?
Oh, bloopers. I forgot that the show itself would be a one big blooper. Mark that calendars, my friends, and please, please don't forget to laugh. At least, the teaser was promising. Always keep that in mind.

XIENAHGIRL. keep your fingers crossed. and, hindi ko pala alam pano bumoto. :(
WANDERING COMMUTER. sana nga. nakakalungkot na kilala ng mga pinoy si david cook, pero yung babae na nanalo sa pinoy idol e hindi. hindi ko nga rin kilala siya e. tsk
